Bootle Installation |
|
Some people go that extra mile to ensure that they are up to speed with a ceremony but Tony Farrar took that to another level in his preparation for the installation meeting of Bootle Mark Lodge No 478 – by taking his ritual book to Florida to hone his skills ready for his role as installing WM!

Tony was delighted to welcome Provincial Grand Senior Warden David Atkinson, representing the R.W. PGM, to the meeting at Bryn Masonic Hall.

Bootle Mark Lodge is a lodge for directors and assistant directors of ceremony and as such presents its own challenges for those undertaking ritual. Tony may be the Provincial Deputy D.C. but he was under the watchful, and knowledgeable, eyes of many experienced brethren including his IPM Arthur Robinson who is also the Provincial D.C.

Roy Hedges was installed as WM by Tony in fine style. Roy being a past master the ceremony was of course fore-shortened but it was nonetheless delivered in a delightful manner. It was a pleasure to observe.
The address to the newly installed WM was orated in an outstanding manner by David Rigby. John Askew took to the floor to address the Overseers as to their duties whilst David Atkinson was made to sing for his supper and added further to the occasion with the address to the Brethren.

As usual at Bryn the catering was to an excellent standard. A starter of bacon and asparagus spear was followed by beef au poivre and a dessert of sherry trifle. It was very well received.
