Prince Setanta Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 1446 |
|
First meeting at the new home of the Lodge; Blackpool Cricket Club, West Park Drive, Blackpool on Monday 16th September 2024.
The members of the Lodge and a number of visitors gathered in anticipation of a new chapter in the history of Prince Setanta Royal Ark Mariners No 1446, with the move to the Cricket Club following the demise of Poulton Masonic Hall.
The Lodge was quickly set up by the members and a few willing volunteers. The Worshipful Commander: WBro Peter Walker opened the Lodge and welcomed everybody. A dispensation was read out allowing the Lodge to meet at the new location.
Two joining members were balloted for and warmly welcomed on board: WBro Giles Frederick Berkley (Dep Prov GM) and Bro James Rashid. |
|
WBro Melvyn Cross who had taken on the role of JW for the Lodge, asked if he could be replaced by Bro Rashid, which was duly agreed and the swap was seamlessly undertaken.
A ballot was taken for Bro Charles Roger Stansfield, which proved in favour and he was duly elevated by his son WBro Andy Stansfield, who had requested he be able to carry out the ceremony.
WBro Stansfield was assisted in the ceremony by WBro Glenn O’Brien and WBro Tony Thackrah (visitor – who explained the steps)
An excellent ceremony was enjoyed by all.
The Lodge was closed, and the room quickly and easily derigged and all retired to the bar area in the room adjacent to the Lodge room.
An excellent meal of a Lancashire hotpot with beetroot and red cabbage was followed by gateau and fresh cream which was enjoyed by all in an informal setting.
Lively discussion ensued with talk of multiple joining members to be welcomed into the Lodge in the very near future. Onwards and upwards for the Lodge!!
An enjoyable night was had by all with many more to follow in the Lodges new home.
