Prince Setanta Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1446
 
Installation meeting Thursday 8th February 2024 at the Masonic Hall, Poulton Le Fylde.
WBro. Giles Frederick Berkley PGJD, Dep Pro. GM was in attendance.
25 Brethren were in present.
The following Masters in office were present, WBro. Mark Brown (Fylde 296 & Semper Fidelis 880), WBro. Paul Smedley (Cleveleys 1176) and WBro. Philip Kavanagh (Preston 143).
WBro. James Rashid ProvAGDC was asked to act as guest DC for the evening.
The WM, WBro. Allan Gould PProvGJW welcomed everybody and opened the Lodge.
A memoriam was read out for WBro. David Winder Asst. ProvGM and the Brethren stood to order for a period of reflection.
The WM worked through the business expeditiously up to the Installation where he invited the following Bro’s to act as installing Officers: WBro. Paul Smedley JW, WBro. Mike Brown SW and WBro. Joe O’Brien Inner Guard.
A dispensation was read out by the Secretary VWBro Jimmy Rogers PGJO, for the Master elect Bro Michael Cook who had not previously been installed in the Chair of a Craft Lodge.
The WM requested the assistance of WBro. Steven Thackrah Prov. GStwd (the Master elects son in law) and WBro Tony Thackrah PProvGJW with the ceremony.

The WM was duly installed in fine order.
The addresses were given by the Bispham with Norbreck “dream team” of:
  • WBro. Tony Cross - DGSwdB (Master)
  • WBro. Giles Berkley – Asst PGM (Wardens & Brethren)
  • WBro. James Rashid – ProvAGDC (Overseers)
The WM appointed all his Officers and proceeded to close the Lodge.

The Brethren assembled in the bar for refreshments and onto the festive board; meat n’ potato pie, chips and veg and a cheese board.
Toasts and responses were eloquently carried out at the festive board combined with some funny anecdotes (no names, no pack drill!).
A raffle (town name fiddle) was held at the festive board, run by WBro. Mike Brown ProvGSD, which raised £156.

A good night with great craic was definitely had by all!
