Aeon Mark Advancement 3rd April 2025

On a very pleasant Thursday evening the members of Aeon Mark descended on Chorley Masonic Hall for their regular and election meeting.

The lodge was opened by the WM David Bishop under the direction of the Lodge DC Jim Hustler and in no time at all we were whistling through the business of declaring the Senior Warden, Jim Wynne as Master Elect and Bill Bruce as Treasurer.
Under the proposition of the Secretary, Chris Wild, the Lodge voted to change their by-laws moving to meet at Chorley following the demise of Wellington Park in Leyland prior to the lockdowns caused by the Covid Pandemic. The change of venue and meeting pattern received unanimous support from the members.

An additional item to be transacted was a ballot to advance W.Bro. Stewart Gary Gregory again another successful operation and following the usual reports Stewart was soon being escorted around the Lodge by the Senior Deacon John Rimmer assisted, where necessary by the action Junior Deacon, myself, that was a surprise!
The Wardens and Overseers ensured that all was, or wasn’t, in order as the ceremony took its usual twists and turns until Stewart eventually appeared before the Master Chair to receive his just rewards.

The ceremony was perfectly crafted by the Master who was ably assisted with the many passages of holy rite by the Lodge Chaplain Stewart Seddon.

Following the ceremony, Gowan O'Hagan, our Deputy Special Rep presented Stewart with a letter of welcome from the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. Keith Alan Bearmore, GMRAC, along with an invite to the Provincial Meeting at Blackpool on the 8th May and a discounted meal to boot!

All business transacted, the Senior Warden closed the Lodge and we all retired to a festive board prepared by Sue the Lodge caterer and served by the hall staff.

The Lodge was pleased to congratulate John Rimmer on his forthcoming appontment as Senior Grand Deacon, well done John.

There was a very pleasant atmosphere both in Lodge and at the social board, typical of the Mark Degree,
Magic init!
