Corinthian Mark Installation 2025
 
On Thursday 23rd October, Corinthian Mark Lodge, No 1052 held their Installation meeting at Liverpool Masonic Hall. Representing the PGM was WBro Brian Povey, Grand Steward.

The Lodge was opened by the Worshipful Master, WBro Adrian Williams and the first item on the summons was an, In Memoriam  for WBro Sydney Ford, PGSB;  Prov RAMGR who passed to higher service on 12th August 2025. Syd was a stalwart member of Corinthian Mark Lodge having served in the office of treasurer for 24 years. Syd was a prolific Mason, not only in West Lancashire, but also in Cheshire. All members stood in Respect of Departed Merit.

After the salutations had been given and the Installing offices placed; WBro Chris Walls, Prov.GSW; presented the Master Elect, Bro Ian Hayhurst for purpose of installation.

The ceremony was carried out by WBro Adrian Williams and WBro Chris Walls and this made it an enjoyable installation. WBro Chris presented the Working Tools and then went on to do the Address to the Master and the Address to the Wardens and as with everything Chris does it was all first class. WBro Derek Gaskell presented the Keystone Jewel to the Master. WBro Jorge Perez; Prov. GJW gave the address to the Overseers.
And those who wait
This was followed WBro Steve Walls, the PGM’s Special Representative addressing the Overseers to explain the new innovation introduced by the Provence this season. The idea it that the three Overseers contact a set number of members of the Lodge before each meeting to see if they are well and if they will be attending the next meeting, or rehearsal? WBro Walls then gave them a letter from the Province which gives a more detailed explanation.

WBro Brian Povey, Grand Steward, then addressed the Brethren. Once the ceremony was over, WBro Povey’s next duty was to bring the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master to WBro Ian Hayhurst on taking the chair for the first time. He also congratulated the two installing office on a very fine job.

WBro Ian Hayhurst then presented a cheque for charity to WBro Brian Povey and this was gratefully received on behalf of those who will ultimately benefit from the donation.

Then it was over and time to dine and joining the members was a non-Mark Mason. It had been a very enjoyable meeting for all whose who attended. We wish WBro Ian Hayhurst a happy and successful year and he does have work to do at the February meeting.
