New Year and a new member for Prescott R.A.M 903

Prescott R.A.M Lodge 903 got the New Year off to a flying start with a new member. Despite it a being a bitter cold and snowy day on 9th January, there was a good turnout of members and visitors for the meeting.

The Worshipful Commander, WBro Jorge Perez opened up the meeting for his first full meeting since being placed in the Chair in November. He efficiently navigated his way through the summons which included a successful ballot for a new member.

Then with a rap of the gavel, WBro Jorge Perez got the ceremony underway. The candidate Bro Ray Parr entered under the safe and competent charge of the Senior Deacon, Bro John Brufell who looked after the candidate throughout the ceremony.

WBro Perez conducted a very enjoyable Elevation ceremony and was ably assisted by his Junior Warden Bro Tommy Grimes; WBro John Lomax who gave the explanation of the signs and acting Senior Warden, WBro Derek Gaskell, (a visitor), who also did the explanation of the Working Tools. With the ceremony over, Bro Ray Parr was welcomed into West Lancashire Royal Ark Mariners by WBro Steve McNee, the PGM’s Deputy Special Rep for the Prescott area.

Congratulations must go to WBro Jorge Perez on a fine ceremony and to the newly installed Scribe, WBro Roger Boyle. There is nothing better after a meeting of good ritual to have an equally good meal and that is what we did. In response to the toast to his health Ray Parr thanked the members for the warmth of their welcome and said how much he had enjoyed the ceremony.

Prescott also has another candidate for their March meeting and so 2025 is off to a good start for the Lodge. We wish Bro Ray Parr many happy years at Prescott and in the degree.
