Morecambe RAM elevation |
|
As the Worshipful Master Steve Plevey may be at the helm of Morecambe Mark Lodge No 716 steering it through this masonic year. But insofar as Morecambe RAM is concerned, being the latest recruit elevated into the lodge, he is merely a junior rating.
However, given his Masonic antecedents he will no doubt climb the ranks in good time. I am sure his proposer our PGM Keith Beardmore, along with his seconder lodge scribe and APGM Geoff Bury, will be watching his progress with interest.
Worshipful Commander Paul Broadley undertook the task of elevating Steve in what was a very pleasant ceremony.
Senior deacon Frank Heath performed to his usual high standard as he conducted Steve throughout the proceedings. He was ably assisted by junior deacon Malcolm Brown.
Others too played their part. Tony Harrison gave an explanation of the signs of the order whilst Alan Gregory presented and explained the working tools. Both played their part well and added to the enjoyment of the occasion.
Special mention is merited in respect of junior warden John Gunson who can reflect on a job well done, particularly as regards the explanation of the steps.
Following the formalities of the lodge room it was on to the dining room. Worshipful Commander Paul was feeling rather nostalgic for his early years and had selected a school dinner menu of cottage pie followed by jam roly-poly. It was very well received.
A very pleasant evening with good ritual, enjoyable food and time spent in good company, it was time well spent.
