Prince Setanta Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1446 |
Installation meeting Thursday 13th February 2025 at the Masonic Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood. |
The Lodge was meeting at Fleetwood by dispensation due to a clash of dates with events at its new home of Blackpool Cricket Club. |
WBro. Mark John Taylor ProvGJW was in attendance as the representative of the RWPGM. |
17 Brethren were in attendance for the meeting with a number of apologises. |
WBro. James Rashid ProvAGDC was acting as guest DC for the evening. |
A last-minute hiccup occurred with the WM, Bro. Michael Cook being unavoidably detained at work over in Durham with no chance of teleportation or AI available in order to attend the meeting. |
Fortunately, his son in law, WBro. Steven Thackrah was able to step up and occupy the chair of the Lodge for the installation meeting! |
The WM worked through the business on the summons, including the ballot for two new joining members: WBro. Andrew Stansfield and his father WBro. Roger Stansfield. The ballot proved in favour. |
The Lodge now has what is possibly a unique situation of three sets of father and sons as members! |
- WBro.’s Tony & Steven Thackrah
- WBro.’s Melvyn & Tony Cross
- WBro.’s Roger & Andrew Stansfield
Back onto the summons and the Master elect, WBro. Peter Walker, was then duly installed as WM in fine form by the stand in WM. |
The addresses were given by: |
- WM WBro. Tony Cross
- Wardens VWBro. John Forster
- Overseers WBro. James Rashid
An explanation of the working tools was given by WBro. Tom Egan. |
The WM appointed all his Officers and presented a cheque to WBro. Taylor for the WLMCF for £250 and then proceeded to close the Lodge. |
The Brethren assembled in the bar for refreshments and onto the festive board. |
Toasts and responses were eloquently carried out at the festive board with the WBro. Mark Taylor ProvGJW outlines some of the RWPGM wishes for the year and beyond in terms of recruitment for the Mark and Royal Ark Mariners degrees. |
WBro. Taylor also congratulated WBro. Tom Egan (Wyre Mark) on his appointment to ProvGJD and WBro. Roger Stansfield (Imperial Mark) to Past ProvGJD. |
A Fleetwood fiddle was held at the festive board, run by WBro. Paul Smedley, which raised £100. |
A very good night was had by all! |
