Prince Setanta Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 1446
Blackpool Cricket Club, West Park Drive, Blackpool on Monday 20th January 2025
 
The Lodge was quickly set up by the members following the Prince Setanta Mark meeting earlier in the evening.
The members of the Lodge and visitors; fourteen in total, gathered for a regular business meeting with a ballot for two joining members and to propose a candidate for future elevation on the agenda.
The Worshipful Commander: Bro. Peter Walker opened the Lodge and welcomed everybody. A dispensation was read out allowing the Lodge to meet at the cricket club.
The Commander worked through the business on the summons.
 
A very lively and lengthy discussion was held in respect of the minutes of the last meeting, which were ultimately agreed and confirmed!
A ballot was taken for joining members, Bro’s. Tony and Steven Thackrah, which proved in favour. Bro. Tony Thackrah, who was present, thanked the members of the Lodge.
Bro. Michael Cook, the WM of Prince Setanta Mark Lodge, was proposed for elevation with the ceremony due to take place at a future meeting.
 
The remaining business was concluded, which included Bro. Chris Titley, SW, being elected as Worshipful Commander for the ensuing year and the Lodge was closed and the room quickly and easily derigged and rerigged for dining.
An excellent meal of chicken curry with rice and chips followed by a toffee flavoured cheese cake with fresh cream was enjoyed by all. Spare portions were eagerly consumed!
 
Lively discussion ensued during the meal.
A raffle was organised by WBro. Andrew Stansfield which raised £65 for charity.
 
An interesting, lively and enjoyable night was had by all.
