Proclamation at Lathom Mark Lodge |
|
| Representing the Provincial Grand Master at Lathom Mark Lodge, Installation meetingĀ on Monday 27th October, at Southport Masonic Hall was WBro Brian Povey, Grand Steward. | |

|
| The Lodge was opened by WBro Neil Latham and then he welcomed WBro Brian Povey and then the salutations were given. Next item was for WBro Alan Foster, to Proclaimed WBro Neil Latham; Worshipful Master of Lathom Mark Lodge, No 268, for the ensuring year. WBro Latham then appointed his Offices for the year. | |
| The ceremony was one of humour and camaraderie and made for a joyous ceremony. WBro Chris Walls, Prov.GSW, gave the address to the Master, and followed this with the address to the Wardens; both done with Chris’s usual aplomb. WBro Mark Taylor gave the address Overseers. Unfortunately, WBro Roy Hedges, the PGM’s Special rep was unable to attend the meeting due to illness and so the Overseers did not receive their letter from the Provence asking the Overseers to contact a set number of Lodge members before each meeting. | |

| WBro Brian Povey then stepped forward and gave the Address to the Brethren. A quartet of cracking addresses which rounded off a very enjoyable ceremony. WBro Povey brought the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master to WBro Neil Latham for continuing in the chair for a second year. The Worshipful Master presented WBro Povey notification of the deposits made to Charity, (isn’t BACS wonderful), by the Lodge, which was gratefully received. | |

| The meeting was done and dusted in just under an hour. This meant there was time for a few drinks before dinner. In response to his toast, Brain gave the parish notices, which concentrated on recruitment for The Mark, but also for the Craft, because without new craft Masons there will not be a supply of candidates for the Mark. We also need to encourage Mark members to join the Royal Ark Mariners degree. This meeting proved the old saying that the Mark Degree is the Friendly Degree. We wish WBro Neil Latham and Lathom Mark Lodge a successful and happy year. | |
