Two of the trio were joining members and so they got given jobs from the start. WBro Adam Kennaugh, (who is a rejoining member), took the Junior Warden’s chair and WBro Mark Cooper acted as the Senior Deacon.

Enter the third member of the trio, Bro Paul Hanley, who was met in the traditional manner before being placed into the safe keeping of WBro Mark Cooper. The Advancement ceremony was split between the Master, WBro Neil Latham and WBro Alan Foster the Lodge DC.

It was a very enjoyable ceremony and congratulations must go to all concerned. Bro Hanley was welcomed into the Mark Degree by VWBro Maurice Evans, who is the PGM’s Special Rep for the Southport Group; who presented Paul with a letter of welcome from the PGM. The letter also contained a voucher for reduction in the price of the meal at this year’s Provincial Grand Mark Lodge, which will be held at Blackpool Winter Gardens on 8th May, 2025.

During the risings, congratulations were given to the members of the Lodge who have received honours in this year’s appointments. WBro John Karren, receives a first appointment of PrGSO. There are promotions for the following brethren; WBro John Lyon-Taylor to PrGSW. And WiBro’s Jim Malloy and Neil Latham both receive PrGJW and WBro David Dixon, to PPrGSO. These will all be bestowed at Provincial Grand Mark Lodge in May.

After the risings there was a proposition for another new member for the Lodge. We wish Paul; Adam and Mark, many happy years with Lathom Mark Lodge and that the Lodge continues to gain new members.
