Wyre Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 754
Wednesday 17th April 2025 at the Masonic Hall, Esplanade, Fleetwood
 
The WM, Bro. David Shaw opened the meeting at 1800 hrs.
24 Brethren were present, including 11 members and 13 visitors.
WBro. Alan Holmes Fairhurst GJD, representing the RWPGM, entered the Lodge under the direction of WBro. Dennis Smith the Lodge DC, accompanied by Worshipful, Grand and Provincial Officers.
The WM greeted and welcomed WBro. Fairhurst to the Lodge.
Salutations were given by the Brethren and responses made.

The WM requested a number of Brethren to occupy key offices for the purpose of the installation ceremony:

  • SW – WBro. Bob Stafford
  • JW – WBro. Alan Barnes
  • IG – WBro. Jim Stewart
WBro. Smith presented Bro. Jim Gregson JW Master Elect, to the WM for the benefit of installation.
The WM proceeded to install Bro. Gregson in an excellent and sincere manner with the assistance of WBro. David Platt.
WBro. Tom Egan presented the Working Tools to the new WM.

The addresses were given by:

  • WM –           WBro. Tony Cross
  • Overseers – WBro. Shaun Haynes
WBro. Fairhurst gave the address to the Brethren.
Upon completion of the ceremony, WBro. Fairhurst congratulated the WM on behalf of the RWPGM and wished all the Officers and Brethren well for the following year. WBro. Shaw was congratulated on an excellent ceremony.
A virtual cheque was presented to WBro. Fairhurst by the WM, for £250 for the WLMCF. The money being transferred via BAC’s to the Charity Fund.
 

The Lodge business was finalised, including the proposition for two joining members and the WM closed the Lodge and everybody retired to the bar and onto the excellent festive board, which was accompanied by lively conversation, banter and speeches.

WBro. Fairhurst responded to the toast to Grand Officers and mentioned amongst other things; the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting on the 8th May and the importance of recruitment to our Lodges.
A Fleetwood fiddle raffle was organised by WBro. Haynes, which raised £141!
 
An enjoyable Installation night was had by all!
