Service of Dedication St Saviors Bamber Bridge November 2011

On Thursday, 27th November Brother Peter Connolly, Provincial Grand Master, attended a Service of Dedication for the transformation of the Parish Church at Bamber Bridge.

The vicar is Rev. Graham Halsall, Provincial Deputy Grand Chaplain, who introduced the Lord Bishop of Blackburn, Rt.Rev. Nicholas Reade to lead the service.

The choir at Cuerden Church School [a joint enterprise between Anglicans and Methodists] sang before the service. In the middle they sang the "Community" song with great enthusiasm : such that it raised a round of applause for them. This was led by the Bishop, who then delivered a stirring sermon.

Also in attendance was the Blackburn Cathedral Boys Choir, in which Aidan, Grahams son, is a chorister.  He looked very angelic in his red cassock, surplice and ruff!

The Mark Masons of West Lancashire have supported the £160,000 redevelopment by supplying two boilers, shown in the photographs.

Some ten Mark Masons were present, at least three of whom serve in the church.  One picture shows them with R.W.Bro. Peter Connolly and W.Bro. Howard Jones, APrGM, Craft, who also made a donation.
