Paul's advancement marked by a distinguished rare pair

Paul Ashbolt of Starkie  Lodge number 1070 was recently advanced into Friendship Mark Lodge number 1549, here in Southport - but this was to be no ordinary advancement.

Paul's father, who was naturally eager to be present to see his son being advanced, is none other than Right Worshipful Brother David Ashbolt, Provisional Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Lodge of London Mark Master Masons.

Our own Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Peter Connolly, made a special visit to the Lodge and invited Paul's father to join him to witness his son's advancement.  They were accompanied by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Worshipful Brother Ian Nairn and other members of the Provincial Team

Another family affair occurred on the night as Worshipful Brother Tony Johnson became a joining member and his father, brother Alwyn Johnson was advanced at the same ceremony.

Later in the evening, at the festive board the WM, Terry Tasker along with all his officers were worthily commended by both PrGMs on their excellent execution of the advancement ceremony.

So Paul and Alwyn were privileged to be in the unique position within Southport of having two Provisional Grand Masters and one Assistant Provisional Grand Master present at their advancement ceremony. Surely a memory to be cherished for a lifetime.
