Flyde Banner Dedication

The Father of Keith and Kevan Beardmore, W.Bro. Leslie Beardmore, P.Prov.G.S.W., was the Centenary Master of Fylde Mark Lodge in 1981 and served in many offices within the lodge with distinction. The brothers decided to present a banner to the Lodge as a memorial to their father. The banner is the first to be owned by the Lodge in the 129th year of its existence and bears an inscription on its converse to commemorate the donation.

The Banner Ceremony took place on the 27th January 2011 and was attended by a large Provincial Team. The Prov.G.M. W.Bro. Peter Connolly introduced the team to the Brethren before settling into the Banner Ceremony. The banner escort with Banner Bearer, paraded the new banner around the Lodge before presenting it to the Prov.G.M. who then presented it to the Worshipful Master, Bro. H.J.Clarke.

After the banner was placed in the east, the Provincial Chaplain, Rev. Graham Halsall, delivered a thoughtful oration on the need for and use of banners.

The Worshipful Master returned to his Chair and the Lodge was progressively closed before the brethren retired to an excellent dinner.
