Grand Mark Lodge 7 June 2011

Mark Masons of West Lancashire travelled to London in great numbers to attend the Investiture meeting of Grand Mark Lodge, where M.W. Bro John Hale, Pro Grand Master, presided, and to see many of our West Lancs. Brethren receive Grand Honours or promotion in Grand Rank. The annual meeting, held at Great Queen Street, was so popular that it was almost a sell-out in the Grand Temple. It was a very colourful day with visitors from Europe and beyond, with delegations from, amongst others, Finland, Greece, Switzerland, France and South Africa.

Following the Investiture, The Pro Grand Master, in his Address, announced that he would be retiring in September. This came a complete surprise to those at the meeting and at the end of his address the Pro Grand Master received a standing ovation.
