KING SOLOMON'S TEMPLE

First presented at the Blackpool and District Association of Mark Lodge's 1983 Festival, this lecture was the culmination of several years of research by a man of great ability and charisma, the late
W. Bro. Sydney David Bates P.D.G.Swd.B.
 
A schoolmaster by profession, and one who knew how to hold the attention of a class of unruly pupils,
Sid had the ability to lay down the format of the presentation which builds a model alongside
Biblical readings and oratory.
 
To date the Presentation has been given over 500 times all over England, Scotland and Wales
to both Masonic and non Masonic Groups.
The Demonstration begins with Biblical readings taken from both Kings and Chronicles and spectacularly
ends with the construction of a one thirtieth scale model of the first Temple at Jerusalem.
The construction is interspersed with further passages from the Bible and explanation of the function of the various parts. Reference is made to apparent inaccuracies in the Ritual and to dimensional discrepancies.
The detail in which they are described includes their method of manufacture, an estimation of their weight,
and a possible explanation of their function.
Finally the variations between Biblical fact and the Book of Ritual are expanded upon and the message
intended to be conveyed by the Ritual is amplified.
