Welcome to The West Lancashire Mark Masons Web Site
Keith Beardmore
Brethren,
We are now into the New Year and further Government restrictions are continuing the suspension of all Masonic activities.
Neither the Province or Grand Lodge have issued any extension of the last suspension notice of our Lodges but Grand Lodge have informed us that in effect Government legislation superseded all other advice.
We therefore need to be now even more vigilant in our approach to this pandemic and await the vaccine roll out. Some of our members in the first age profile have already received their first or even second inoculations and I am sure many more will follow in the coming weeks.
Keep safe, stay at home as much as possible, social distance when required. We can do everything to assist in avoiding contact and thereby infection.
We can also do more to interact with each other by telephone, FaceTime, Zoom and other media platforms to maintain our contact with each other and sustain our Lodge wellbeing.
To all Lodge Almoners I ask you to contact your area Special Representatives who will in turn put you in touch with the new Area Almoners who feed back directly to the Provincial Almoner. This will give all the Almoners up to date information and advice in maintaining your most important role in the Lodge activities.
We have over 140 widows of Mark Masons, let’s make sure they are included in our contact lists. The Mark Masons widows should feel we as the Mark Degree are doing all we can to assist them at this very difficult time.
It is still unsure at this time when any resumption of Lodge activities can start but in the mean time please make the most of the virtual platforms to hold regular Lodge meetings on the dates of the normal Lodge evenings and also hold a  social get together with wives and partners in order to lift the spirits with interaction of those who have not been seen for, what is now, almost a year.
On a Provincial level it is almost business as usual, although not on a person to person basis. We are holding Executive, Charity Committee and other business meetings by Zoom to maintain the business aspects of the Province and the Secretariat are always available by telephone to answer any questions.
I thank the Provincial Secretary, W. Bro. Andrew Dickson and his team for their valued and much appreciated work at this time.
Likewise V.W.Bro Geoff Lee, Dep Provincial Grand Master, W. Bro. Giles Berkley and V.W. Bro . John Bicknell, Ass. Provincial Grand Masters for their invaluable work in Keeping the wheels of the Province in motion at this difficult time.
Keep safe,
Mark Well
